Andy, concerning which netbook to purchase, make sure you consider upgradability. For example some netbooks have the ram soldered in place and no other slot meaning you're stuck with whatever they give you. Granted most come with 1 gig now, but 2 gigs is really the sweet spot for XP, and you can buy a 2 gig RAM stick at Newegg for ~20-25 dollars.

I know the Asus EEE1000HA has the ability to upgrade ram but check for your model, and with Windows 7 almost here, you might need the extra ram to run it properly.

I just went through your shopping process a few months ago and sympathize with you.

ps y'know with the power of the new smartphones, it's amazing how little I actually use my netbook out and about. Usually I take it with me, only to leave it in the bag, and check mail, and browse with my iPhone.
What I tend to use it for is in bed, and out on the porch browsing. Food for thought.

Hi Andy,

I was doing a search for "blog network", when I came across your site in Google. I have a degree in economics, and was hoping to participate in writing finance articles, with other bloggers. I'm looking around your site however, and I can't see that this is really a "network" per se.

David - Yes, this a problem I had with blogger and godaddy (and yahoo small business domains). You need to change some settings in godaddy and this article tells you what to do :

If that doesn't work or you have another proivder, just google the problem and you will find a fix. That's what I did.

Hi, a little off topic, hope you don't mind. I see you had the same problem as me. www. works but not without. How did you fix the problem ( redirect non-www to www) and do you still have a yahoo domain? I was thinking of transferring over to godaddy because it is a lot cheaper.
