It is the culture at that company and other American airlines. &lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Sirbeef - An uneventful flight with an American carrier. How rare. The f...</title><content type='html'>Went to Peru in June from Miami on American. The flight was pretty typical, not too bad. &lt;BR/&gt;The flight back was canceled because of mechanical issues. Fortunately they put us on a flight later that night.&lt;BR/&gt;I considered myself lucky.&lt;BR/&gt;United has serious problems. The middle eastern and asian airlines often have significant government backing allowing them to run at a loss and get cheap fuel. Until that changes we can never be competitive.
